want an EP packed with moody, atmospheric jams... for free?
some of you might recall that
late last year i wrote about the electronique.it label's very nice three-track release, the expression of emotions in man and animals, featuring plant43, valmass and yard. today, and today only, the website/label is graciously offering up a free download of that EP. you can grab it here now! [EDIT: not anymore!]

monday moods: stream a 20-minute collaboration between MURCOF and PHILIPPE PETIT
looking to properly unsettle your monday afternoon? then read on!
some of you might fondly recall the mexican artist murcof, aka fernando corona. over the last decade he's produced an excellent series of solo albums: murcof, utopía, remembranza and cosmos. each album was a unique synthesis of minimalist techno, IDM, ambient and classical music, and each one seemed to go deeper than the one before it. also, take a look at how the first letter of each album title lines up - M, U, R and C - and join me in hoping that two more solo LPs (O and F) will be revealed at some point.
anyway, it looks like he's got a full-length collaboration coming out later this year on the aagoo imprint with french-born experimentalist philippe petit, and the duo are kindly sharing a free stream of the album opener, "the call of circé". it's a 20-minute trip, and (not surprisingly) quite a lush and gloomy one too. have a listen:

stream the new DADUB album (for free!)
here's something to occupy your ears - if it hasn't been there already. stroboscopic artefacts stalwarts (and anatomy mix veterans) dadub will put out you are eternity, their debut album, next week. (some of you might recall it's one of ten LPs i'm really looking forward to in early 2013.)
but before the official release, the guys have graciously offered up a full-length stream over at the SA soundcloud page that can be heard for FREE. abstract, beatless soundscapes and colossal techno jams abound... check it out:
... and don't forget, dadub will link up with SA boss lucy, label stalwart xhin (who crafted his own more experimentally inclined anatomy mix back in 2011 as well) and rrose (who cooked up a gnarly remix on the preternity remixes EP) for a stroboscopic artefacts showcase at berghain in berlin this weekend. more details here. go get 'em, team!

friday funk: RVDS - arabian moon
here's a quickie for you to enjoy this friday afternoon...
RVDS is a german artist with a fairly obvious interest in acid and the moon. (just look at the names of some of his records.) he's a resident dj at the hamburg club golden pudel, and as a producer, most of his tracks have come out through his own label, it's. he's also appeared on terpsiton and, perhaps most notably, the dial sublabel laid. his most recent EP, issued on it's in both vinyl and cassette tape formats, is called arabian moon, and - as the name implies - the title track is a delicious dose of acid-tinged exotica. RVDS has posted that one to his soundcloud page, and you can check it out below...
... and you can find more goodies at his website. happy friday!
